ABOUT MIDLIFORA

Navigating Midlife with Curiosity, Not Fear

MIDLIFORA is an independent blog about nutrition, supplements, movement, and healthy aging in midlife. I read the research, share what I learn, and try to be clear about where the evidence is solid and where it isn’t.

Who I Am

I’m Vera Kim, the writer behind MIDLIFORA. I’m not a doctor or a health professional. I’m a person in midlife who reads studies, asks a lot of questions, and writes down what I find.

I don’t have a program or a protocol to sell you. What I have are the questions I’m working through and what I learn along the way.

Why I Started MIDLIFORA

Advice about supplements, exercise, and aging is everywhere, and a lot of it is loud, exaggerated, or contradictory. I started MIDLIFORA to sort through it for myself and to share the results:

  • What the research supports
  • What is still unclear
  • What is mostly marketing

I’d like you to leave with a clearer picture, so you can decide what makes sense for you.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Supplements: what’s in them, which forms are used, how to read a label, and what the studies show.
  • Movement: practical ways to build strength, keep your joints moving, and look after your heart.
  • Healthy Aging: sleep, stress, nutrition, and the changes of midlife, including menopause.
  • Free tools: a protein calculator, a magnesium comparison, a supplement quiz, and a menopause symptom score. They give you a quick starting point, not a diagnosis. You can find them on the Tools page.

How I Write

  • I start with published research, such as studies on PubMed and guidance from the NIH, and I link the sources I use.
  • I keep facts and opinions apart. Each post separates what the research says from what I think, observe, or have personally tried.
  • When the evidence is limited or mixed, I say so.
  • If you find a mistake or an outdated link, tell me and I’ll look into it.
